A Successful Saturday

I'm not sure if you all know this, but a few of us here in London have got together to raise £££ for Watoto. We are aiming to raise atleast £8000 by April 07 to build a house in Uganda to house 6-8 aids-orphaned kids and a house mother. So we have been organising fundraising events to raise the money, and on Saturday we had a double-wammer! In the afternoon we had Pilates... 18 people turned up and we were able to raise £131! after that, it was a quick run home, shower and get changed for our Wine and Cheese night! It was such an amazing night - about 40-50 people came to support us and we were able to raise over £400! It's so exciting to see this become a reality - bit by bit we are raising the money, to change the lives of these cute little kids in africa!
A few of us will be heading over to Uganda next year to build the house.. I'm so excited and so blessed to be given this opportunity to help... I cant wait!!

Check out our blog to find out all the stuff we are doing and what's coming up.... http://watotohousebuilders.blogspot.com.

Oh, in about a week or so, we will have set up our online giving site, so you can all donate generously online!! I'll let you know once its set up and ready to go!

Our trip to the forest

So.. Anandi and I needed a well deserved break OUT of London (you've got to do this every now and again), but our dilema was that we had no money!! So instead of the trip to the beach we both would have loved... we ended up in Epping Forest. So we didnt actually make it out of London (you get there by taking the Cetral Line eastbound, right to the end) but it was quiet, peaceful and the air was fresh!

We stayed at the Youth Hostel and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except sleep and eat. It was wonderful! There are some odd people out there - like the crazy Scotsman who loved to chatter away to himself whilst listening to his classical music... and the 60yr old man who ran the hostel wearing his cute little riding shorts with a delightful TANNED butt hanging out! We had a good laugh!

Well its back to work tomorrow... oh well.

Lets Blog!

So... For the past couple of months, I have discovered that a lot of people I know have started their own blogs, and in my quiet times at work (there are a few of them!) I have found myself 'blog-hopping' between all these random people - some people I do know, others I am yet to meet! So I thought to myself, I should probably start one of my own... Its not really fair I am reading about other people's lives, yet not expressing my own.
So here you go!
Enjoy!
